Having been in Cornwall for a couple of weeks, where the weather was not very good, I thought I would make the most of the sun have a go at photographing butterflies this afternoon.
I have been up to the field at Booker and then over to Homefield Wood. I think I was a bit too early as the butterflies were still lively. I have 4 reasonable shots out of 48.
I attach two
So get out there and have a go. I am sure Nicholl will be able to give some tips, but here are some.
1. Go when its sunny, but when it is cooling down, the butterflies will rest longer.
2. Try to approach from downwind and try an not to cast a shadow over the subject.
3. I have found that if you walk around you may find that there are areas with large numbers of butterflies.
