Good morning one and all. What an eventful couple of weeks it has been for yours truly.
On the 1st November Emma and I tried to take photos of the Marlow Half Marathon in dense mist and cold whilst some parts of the country had temperatures up into the 20s.
Then 12 days ago it was off for a dirty weekend. Peter and I went all the way to mid-Wales, with a trailer, to collect manure from my sister’s land by the River Dovey. On the way back we had a punctured trailer wheel on the M5 and had to call the AA out. Lovely man and he did not bat an eyelid. No pictures here !
The 14th November was the Marlow FM “Hidden Gems” Awards evening at the Crown Plaza. The club had been nominated for an award in the “Amateur Arts” section. Peter, myself, Andy K, Mary, Margaret, Emma and Allen W all turned up and out in our best bib and tucker and didn’t we scrub up well. SO WHY NO DECENT PHOTOGRAPHS MARY, EMMA OR MARGARET? Was it because we didn’t win and I could not give a tearful acceptance speech?
Finally…DO NOT FORGET THE CHAIRMAN’S CHALLENGE on the 8th December. Here are pictures of my fellow judge Gillian Dibden and the prize cup. Gillian is conductor and musical director of Marlow Community Choir at Borlase. She is witty and observant and musically very skilled.
