Santa’s Fun Run – Sunday 5th December 2010

I was delighted that the above event turned out to be a great success, which
was principally due to excellent organisational skills by the The Rotary
Clubs of Marlow. The day was made even better as the sun appeared at just
about at the time the event started, making good conditions for the eleven
Members Of Marlow Camera Club who volunteered to take photographs in support of The Rotary Clubs of Marlow. Our mission was to try and capture photographs of as many of the Santas as we could in the hope that the
runners/walkers should able to identify themselves when the images are
loaded onto their website (www.santasfunrun.org). This was the 6th Santa’s Fun Run and the organisers are quietly confident that they should be able to beat last year’s figure and reach circa £20,000. In all there were over1000 Santas on show and MCC Members covered all the key areas, centered mainly around Higginson Park, plus random shots throughout the course. We handed over about 3,500 images which the organisers wanted at 640 x 480 pixels. Thus, all images had to be resized and delivered to the organisers by the end of the day. The images will probably appear on their website within 2-3 days of the event. Well done to all of our Members who volunteered and being part of this worthwhile charitable event. Look out for a few Santas in forthcoming competitions!
