Meeting (25th Jan)

We have been working on tomorrow’s practical evening, and there should be something for everyone.

Damon is planning a session on getting your exposure right (in camera).

Steve is providing advice and practical on HDR imaging.

Pippa will be advising on photoshop, with a session on preparing your images for competition.

My session is as follows
1st half

Importing (including duplicates) and organising images (including basic keywording).

Choosing images to process.

Making basic adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw (available with Adobe Elements, Photoshop and Lightroom).
Covering spot removal for when you get those specks of dust on your sensor, basic adjustments, exposure, clarity, saturation, cropping etc.

Either end of first half or beginning of second half

Opening images to photoshop (settings and smart objects).

2nd half.

Using Layers and adjustment layers.
And if there is time, using Masks.

  1. Can everyone who has a laptop with editing software on it please bring it along to the session. It will be a great help to all if you have your own equipment and can learn to use it in your session.
    Thanks. Have fun tonight.

    Damon

  2. I hope everyone found something useful tonight and enjoyed the evening.
I feel drained but did enjoy the evening.
I hope those in my group have taken something away, both to think about and to practises.

I did not cover the red eye tool, the gradient filter or the adjustment brush. The last two of which are extremely powerful, and can be covered at a later date if you wish.
